CTA Welcomes Davy Sanelus to the Gold Team Coaching Staff!

Welcome Coach Sanelus!
DAVY SANELUS will be joining the CTA National Gold coaching staff for the 2022-23 season. Davy was born in Montreal and raised in Saint-François, Laval. He moved to Ottawa in 2002 where he attended Franco-Cité High School. Before getting into coaching, Davy was a former NCSSAA, OCAA all-star and CIS athlete.
Davy’s passion for coaching started as a teen with Basketball Québec in their annual summer camp. Davy later became involved with the GCBA Organization where he started as an assistant coach under the leadership of Fabienne Blizzard, and things took off from there! With the help of Fabienne, Davy got involved with Ontario Basketball as an assistant and quickly got named head coach of the U14 provincial team the following 2 years. Davy was also part of the Canada Basketball Junior Academy program for 5 years.
The passion didn't stop there. In 2014, Davy started the Evolution Basketball Program as a way to help share his knowledge and passion with both the French and English basketball communities in Ottawa. His Evolution program has been involved with 15 elementary schools in the Ottawa region as an in-school hour program and has trained over 600 kids.
Davy is currently and will remain the full-time Lead Assistant Coach at Carleton University under the tutelage of Taffe Charles and Dave Smart. Coach Davy recently helped guide the Ravens to their 16th USports National Championship. CTA is looking forward to having Davy involved in our program.
