BRUCE BONNER has a Master’s degree in Nutrition from the Edison Institute of Nutrition and a Sociology degree from the University of Prince Edward Island. In addition to being a Nutritional Consultant, Bruce is a Certified Biofeedback Technician (CBT), NLP Master Practitioner and a Level 1 Metabolic Typing Advisor. He has been a member in good standing of the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants, Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists and of the Canadian Examining Board of Healthcare Practitioners for the past 17 years.

Bruce has a keen interest in sports and played professional hockey in Germany for five years. Helping amateur and professional athletes from many different sports is one of his passions. A sought after lecturer, Bruce speaks on a variety of topics and has done hundreds of seminars in front of various sports teams and organizations in the past decade.

Bruce’s passion for helping others is fueled by his desire to live a healthy lifestyle and his  life-long study of alternative medicine. Using his seventeen years of clinical experience Bruce  specializes in digestive problems, sports nutrition, allergies, food sensitivities, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) (Bruce did his thesis in IBS), hormonal change balances, fatigue, stress, anxiety, and weight-loss programs.

 ​​​​JOHN HAIME is a world-class specialist in the area of performance and one of the world’s leading authorities in Emotional Intelligence as it relates to performance in sport. He personally coaches top executives, executive teams, athletes and artists in a variety of performance areas. He is a sought after speaker by corporate and sports groups around the world.


In January 2010, New Edge Performance (www.newedgeperformance.org) was created to service a growing demand in the athlete market. Through “New Edge” John Haime works with some of the world’s leading professional and amateur athletes on mental/emotional development.

CHRISTA BLACKMORE ​​was born in Mississauga, Ontario and was a point guard at John Fraser Secondary School. She had a career in professional dancing throughout the GTA where she appeared on television for CHUM City's Much Music, performed live events for Cirque du Soleil, appeared in commercials and was hired for private events including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, and various musical celebrity engagements. She retired in 2001.

After relocating to Ottawa, Christa began her studies in metaphysical sciences. In addition to Christa's studies, she is a certified Yin and Restorative Yoga Instructor, where she prides herself in combining her expertise to bring physical, energetic and mental wellness to her students and clients.

Christa brings over 25 years of yoga practice and physical conditioning to the staff, along with more than 10 years of energetic healing and meditative practices. She is proud to be a part of Canada Topflight Academy and an integral part of the growth & development of the athletes.

Team Chiropractic Physician

​​DR.  DEVIN CHOHAN utilizes the latest in clinical and bio-mechanical research through Integrated Therapeutics (IT)™ to help athletes reach their potential, manage and prevent injuries. He has a special focus on Athletic Performance & Functional Movement. Dr. Chohan holds an Honours B.A. from the University of Ottawa, Doctor of Chiropractic degree, complete with Dean's list and Clinical Honours, from CMCC, as well as a certificate in Neurofunctional Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University's department of Anaesthesiology. Dr. Chohan has been trained in several other disciplines, including: Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Complete Concussion Management,  Active Release Technique, Graston Technique, Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), and Integrated Therapeutics.

Dr. Chohan currently consults with athletes of all sports and skill levels at Performance Sports Therapy in Ottawa. He has extensive ties in the Ottawa community throughout his years of playing competitive sports including basketball, soccer, table tennis, track-and-field, and golf. Dr. Chohan was also a winner of the Jim McDonald Citizenship Award in Ottawa and selected as a National Technical Official for Canada Basketball at the Pan-Am/Para Pan-Am games in 2015.

Performance Coach

​​​ANDY STEWART has a breadth of knowledge in training techniques and skill progressions, and relies on experience and motivation to help his athletes succeed. He has been a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the past 15 years and has worked with varsity athletes, as well as national and professional level athletes in many sports, including basketball, soccer, hockey, martial arts, and CrossFit. He is a coach first and truly enjoys helping athletes improve their athletic performance with appropriate programming and oversight.

He is currently the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Carleton Ravens Men’s’ Basketball team and has been with the team through its 12 National Championships. Andy was a Coach with the L’Usine CrossFit team that competed at the 2012 CrossFit Games, and the NCR CrossFit team that placed 4th at the 2013 Canada East Regionals. Andy is an avid Crossfitter and a former Varsity Basketball player for Carleton University (1994-1999).

AARON BLAKELY ​ joins Canada Topflight Academy to take on the role of Director of Player Development. Aaron returns to CTA after leading them to their inaugural NPA National Championship as the Head Coach. He brings a wealth of knowledge, skills, and leadership to the position and will be instrumental in skill development with all three CTA programs.


Blakely is a high school teacher in Ottawa and Assistant Coach at Carleton University. He began his career at Carleton as Team Manager and became an Assistant Coach where he has since been part of 11 National Championships. Aaron has been a staple in the basketball community and one of the top skill-trainers in the country. He has been working with the very successful Ottawa Elite program since inception and won one of the club’s CYBL Championships with his U15 squad in 2016-17. Aaron has become the first coach in Canada to win a Canadian Preparatory School National Championship (NPA), Canada Basketball National Tournament (Ontario) Provincial Cup title (OBA Division 1), and CYBL championship (CYBL). He has involvement with 15 major titles (11 with Carleton University, 1 Ontario Basketball Association, 1 NPA , 1 Canada Basketball National title and 1 CYBL). In 2014, Blakely led the U15 Ontario Provincial Boys Team to an undefeated National Championship. He coached ESPN #1 world ranked RJ Barrett and ESPN #1 ranked point guard Andrew Nembhard as U14 aged players. His coaching resume also includes: numerous National Team, Provincial Team, Division 1 and CIS athletes. He currently coaches in Canada Basketball's Junior Academy and an OYBA Ottawa Elite Team. Blakely lists coaches Dave Smart, Rob Smart, Brad Stevens and Greg Popovich as his favorite coaches.
