Canada Topflight Academy is pleased to announce that Ottawa, Ontario's LIYA EQUBAGZI will be part of the program for the 2017-2018 women's team's inaugural season!


​Liya enters grade 11 and has attended Notre Dame High School the past 4 years. She began playing competitive basketball in grade 7 with the Gloucester Wolverines and she is currently playing for the Ottawa Shooting Stars Association. This past season her Shooting Stars U16 team competed in the Eastern Ontario Basketball Association Division 4 and earned a gold medal. This same team would also win a bronze medal in Division 8 of the Ontario Cup this past spring.

Liya has also competed in various basketball competitions, winning the Knights Of Columbus District and Regional Free Throw competitions at the age of 13 hitting 22/25 free throws. During her time at Notre Dame High School Liya played 4 years on the interscholastic team. She co-captained the grade 7-8 team leading them to a birth in the league semi-finals. This past year she was the captain of the Notre Dame junior team. Liya is a multi-sport athlete, winning countless awards playing soccer, volleyball, touch football and of course basketball. She brings great character and work ethic to the CTA women’s program.

Canada Topflight Academy welcomes Liya to the 2017-2018 women's program at Immaculata High School!
