Canada Topflight Academy would like to welcome ETHAN SINCLAIR to our Junior Boys Prep program for the 2018-19 season.
Ethan hails from Northwest Angle 33 First Nation community, south of Kenora, Ontario. He is one of the premier Indigenous players in Canada for his age and has participated in the prestigious Native American Basketball Invitational in Arizona.
Sinclair originally started playing basketball at 12 years old teaching himself on an outdoor court and was selected his school teams MVP in grade 7 and 8. Last year as a freshman in grade 9, Ethan started for the Senior boys team at St. Thomas Aquinas and led the Saints to a NorWOSSA title and a "A" OFSAA appearance in Cornwall, ON. During the OFSAA Championship Ethan led his team in scoring with 15 pts/game in the four games they played.
Ethan's long-time coach and mentor is former professional player Mike Luby who is excited for the opportunity and feels Ethan has tremendous upside and he himself is looking forward to witnessing the development over a full year. "He has never had the opportunity to be consistently coached or even have access to a court, where he is from, shooting outside alone and mimicking his favorite players is the only option."
Ethan is extremely grateful for his chance to attend CTA and represent First Nations athletes following in the footsteps of both Ricky Houle and Khaleem Sarazin who won back to back NPA National Championships for the CTA Senior program.
Ethan, welcome to the CTA Family!!
